Here's a simple way to understand how bonuses work in Medieval Empires:

  • Bonuses add up, they don't multiply: Imagine you have two bonuses. If one bonus gives you +100% and another gives you +94%, together they give you a total of +194%, not +194% of the original number.
  • Example: Say your hero's attack at level 14 normally goes up by 222 to something between 222 and 278. If you have a bonus from your Hero Academy at level 21 (which gives +100%), your hero's attack could be between 222 and 333.
  • With an extra bonus:  E.g., with a 94% bonus, your hero's attack could now be between 222 and 385. This is a big jump, but remember, the chance to hit the maximum attack isn't guaranteed.
  • Why add instead of multiply? If we multiplied bonuses, the game would get unbalanced quickly. Strong players would become way too powerful, making the game less fun for everyone.
  • Game balance: By adding bonuses, we ensure that even small advantages can make a difference in a one-on-one fight at the same level. This means the game stays competitive and interesting. If we multiplied, players with lots of bonuses could easily beat multiple opponents at the same level, which would make teamwork pointless and the game boring.
  • For PvE (Player vs Environment): These bonuses can really help against computer-controlled enemies because they don't get these kinds of bonuses, making your heroes much stronger in comparison.

So, while bonuses make your hero stronger, they're designed to keep the game fair and enjoyable for all players.
